552 Artifact- EdPuzzle

I created this artifact using Edpuzzle. To be honest, I created my account, and I almost decided to not follow through with using it because I was not sure how to use it right away. I often find myself getting scared with new technology tools if I cannot figure out how to use them as soon as I log in. However, today I decided to face the challenge and I am so glad I did because it ended up being a beneficial tool that I will continue to use in education.

Edpuzzle could be used in the classroom in a variety of ways. After figuring out how to find YouTube videos, I found that you can add questions and comments throughout videos to keep students listening and engaged. You can also use videos that have already been created through the "Edpuzzle Community," which is great to avoid recreating the wheel. Another feature is the Popular Channels link. Some popular channels include Khan Academy, TED Talks, and  National Geographic. If you have your own videos that you have created, you can upload and use those as well. There is also integration with Google Classroom for sharing assignments, exporting grades from questions,

As I stated previously, I struggled with Edpuzzle at first glance. Once I started looking around the website and found the video I wanted to use, it was fairly simple to utilize. A helpful tip is that there is a Help Center for questions that you may have, just click on your account picture at the top of the screen. Accounts are needed for Edpuzzle and are available for both teachers and students. Edpuzzle would be an awesome tool to use for teaching any subject area and I have already thought about using videos for Science and Social Studies. Overall, I found Edpuzzle to be resourceful and a tool that many educators could benefit from using in their classrooms.
